The city of Santa Ana, CA is located under the boundaries of the state of California, USA. The city has got a wonderful and quiet dramatic history. More than hundred years ago, a little town of about 4,900 people fought off its Anaheim neighbors to become one of the seats of government of the newly formed county of Orange. The land that became Santa Ana was covered with tall yellow mustard when in October 1869, William H. Spurgeon, the founder of the area, from Kentucky rode through on horseback. After that, he started his town with twenty-four blocks of about ten lots each and given the name Santa Ana to it. In 1870, Spurgeon became postmaster also became the first mayor when the city incorporated in June 1886.
