The city of Richardson is located in the Dallas and Collin Counties in the State of Texas (USA). Incorporated as a city in 1925, Richardson has several laurels to its credits, including being recognized as the 18th best place to live in America by the Money magazine in 2008 and the 2nd best place to raise a family in Texas in the year 2009. With time the city has developed into an important Telecom corridor with a high concentration of Telecom companies including five of the worlds largest communications/networking companies: AT&T, Cisco Systems, Samsung, Fujitsu and Nortel. These companies together employ over 20,000 people in Richardson from a population of over 100,000. The prestigious University of Texas at Dallas is also located in Richardson. Restaurant chains like Bennigans and Wingstop are headquartered in Richardson. Among many notable Richardsonians, perhaps the most recognizable today are the pop divas and sisters – Jessica and Ashlee Simpson.
