In 1863 the railroad industry needed to have a way through the area, Lake in his business saviness saw the opportunity and sold some of his land to the Pacific Railroad thus creating the first transcontinental railroad. Reno is where Harrahs Casino is first started, making Reno Among one of the top Casino cities in the United States of America. The Water supply is portable and is made available by Truckee Meadows Water Authority, the Truckee River is the primary water source, and goes through the purification proccess through two treatment plants. There is a lot of different recreational activities in Reno such as golf, hockey, waterskiing, and all sorts of water activities.
