Founded in the 1870s New Castle, WA is an erstwhile coal mining town located in King County Washington. The city was named after the New Castle Tyne in England and has been instrumental in the socio – economic development of nearby city of Seattle. With a tiny population of around 7800 residents the city has one of the highest per capita incomes in the country making it the 17th best city to be living in, In North America. New Castle, WA boasts of several big and small attractions like the Golf Club, Lake Boren Park, nearby Cougar Mountain, and several parks and trails. Notable New Castle residents include former NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets, James Hasty and Former NFL player for the Seattle Seahawks – Mack Strong. Together with local artists and organizations and its rich history the city offers a wide range of family entertainment as a part of its New Castle Days Celebrations, a community festival each year in the month of September (it was incorporated as a city on 30th September 1994)
