Thus, came the name of the city, Gilbert in AZ. The city is included in the east valley area and is in the Southeastern art of the Greater Phoenix. Gilbert, AZ falls in the Maricopa County with area code 480. It covers an area of about 76 Sq. miles and stands at 1273 feet from the Sea Level. The city was renowned as the Hay Capital of the World till the late Twentieth Century. Also, Gilbert in AZ has been the Fastest growing city in America of all times to have a growth rate of nearly 500 % between 1990 and 2005. To Gilberts west and south lies Chandler and to the West and North lies Mesa with Queen Creek on the East and South. Gilbert has made a rapid transformation from the Historical Agriculture Based Community to an economically diverse Suburban Center. It has been recognized as the 36th Best Place to live in the Nation in the year 2010.
