Erie, PA is the fourth largest city of US state Pennsylvania. The city of Erie, PA was incorporated in 1851, but was founded in the year 1795. The city was named after the Lake Erie, which touches the citys area, and the native Erie Indians. In 1760, when the French leaved the fort named Presque Isle, which was built by the French, was occupied that very same year by the British, that place is now a park in the city. The city has also taken participation in war of 1812. A Lighthouse, which was named Presque Isle Lighthouse, was made in 1872 in the city of Erie, PA.
