The city of Denver, CO is the capital of state Colorado in the US. The city of Denver was incorporated on 7th November, 1861. This city was found in Western Kansas Territory as a mining town in the month of November in 1958. In summer of 1958, a group of gold prospectors from Lawrence, Kansas arrived which established a city named the Montana City on the banks of the South Platte River. This city was the first settlement which later becomes the city of Denver, CO. On November 1858, General William Larimer, a land speculator from eastern Kansas, named the town site Denver City to gain the favor of the Governor Kansas Territory Mr. James William Denver. Larimer thought that this name would help him in making the town a county seat of the Arapaho County. This city is also known historically as Queen City of The Plains. This city was the host of Democratic National Convention twice. Currently, this city has a population of about 610,345 citizens. Denver International Airport is also an attraction of the city.
