Baltimore, MD is a very historic city in the New England area of the United States of America. The city itself is named after the Lord Baltimore. The town was founded on July 30, 1729. It was home to the Battle of Baltimore, and shortly after the battle, the city began growing immensely in population. Baltimore, MD was also home to the Baltimore riot of 1861 which did not end until the spring of 1865. On February 7, 1904, the Great Baltimore Fire occurred in the city, causing much damage and destruction. This horrible event caused the city to have to begin rebuilding what was already established. When the rebuilding happened, it brought many new settlers to the area, which ended up being a good thing for Baltimore, MD.
