The state of Michigan is situated in the great lakes region and is the only state comprising two peninsulas. Formally known as Michigan Territory the sate joined the USA on the 26th of January 1837. Ford Museum is located in the state along with many natural attractions owning to the geography surrounding Lake Michigan including waterfalls and rapids. Michigans proximity to Canada has always made the state important to americas natural resource health, as gold, oil and other minerals travel from the great north into the USA.
